Academic writing involves communicating ideas clearly and concisely and conveying arguments in a logical and convincing manner. The skills needed for academic writing are critical thinking and reading, time management, and language awareness.
The writing workshop is designed to help students write better academic English texts. It is divided into three parts: pre-writing, writing, and revision and editing. Within these, we will also tackle all kinds of writing features, including grammar, a clear and cogent writing style, an organized plan of the writing process, the organization of ideas, and the structure of longer academic texts. Writing technicalities such as sentence and paragraph building, word choice and wordiness, punctuation, and other formalities will be dealt with as well.
