This course is for students of law who want to learn more about legal English and advance their English language skills. We will concentrate on improving students? spoken and written English skills, with a focus on expanding the legal vocabulary required for their further study. Grammar questions will be addressed as needed. Materials will largely center on the American legal system, providing some insight into an alternative system of justice that is very different from the German system, thereby allowing students to acquire an understanding of how cultural differences affect the practice of law. It is recommended to take this course from the 3rd semester onwards.
