Dieser Kurs wird in diesem Semester als Online-Kurs angeboten. Er besteht aus Aufgaben und Übungen, die über die Lernplattform ILIAS von der Lehrperson betreut werden sowie aus regelmäßigen Kurssitzungen in Form von Videokonferenzen. Um möglichst günstige Interaktionsbedingungen zu schaffen, finden die Videokonferenzen in kleinen Gruppen statt, zu den unten angegebenen Zeiten (GMT+1). Insgesamt haben Sie ca. 8-10 Konferenzen. Den Zugang zum ILIAS-Kurs bekommen Sie eine Woche vor Kursbeginn oder am Tag des Kursbeginns.
In the present semester, this course is offered as an online course. It consists of exercises and assignments on ILIAS with teacher feedback and guidance as well as course sessions by way of web conference. To create best possible conditions for interaction the web conferences will be held in small groups, at the times advertised below (GMT+1). In total there will be approx. 8-10 web conferences. You will get access to the ILIAS course approx. one week before the course starts or on the first day of the course.
The course develops your test taking skills for the TOEFL and IELTS examination. You will become familiar with the format and directions of the test; you will practice the types of questions that are asked in each section; and you will develop the English language skills that are necessary to be successful on the test. Emphasis is placed on reading and the tested reading tasks, listening comprehension, addressing the speaking prompts, and special emphasis is placed on appropriately responding to the writing tasks. Other topics that will be addressed are how the tests are generally organized and structured, in which way they differ, how to register for them, and what you can do in self-study to achieve the score you need.
Grades will be determined by written assignments and work on the ILIAS material.
