This course is for students of law who want to learn more about legal English and advance their English language skills in this English for Specific Purposes.

The primary aims of the course are

• to advance your spoken and written English skills in terms of tone and style within legal situations
• to expand your legal vocabulary and to work on difficult grammar issues as needed
• to provide insight into the American legal system 
• to generally understand the differences to the German legal system
• to identify how cultural differences affect the practice of law.

It is recommended to take this course from the 3rd semester onwards. The certificates for this course will be accepted as a certification for your department (FB 01).
